Yesterday at Portland Saturday Market, a lovely couple came into my booth and bought the last remaining painting from the series "Unlikely Heroes" for the nursery of their soon-to-arrive first-born.
Looking at all three pieces of the series side by side here makes me wonder about my psyche last year – my mind was definitely on ideas of myth, voyage, irony and precariousness of the journey unknown.
The series as a whole attracted a lot of young couples, but in the end, the originals were purchased by an art collector from NY, a nurse practitioner/lecturer from Portland, and the couple yesterday, from Portland, I believe.
I thought about expanding the series, but now I'm not sure anymore. My most recent painting, "Lost and Found" gave me some ideas for a new series. We'll see how it goes. Onward.
